Meet the team:
Shelley Arran - Shelley is a registered mental health nurse and became the director and responsible individual of Diverse support Pembrokeshire in 2022. She has an excellent reputation amongst various third sector agencies whom she has worked alongside as a registered mental health nurse for many years. Shelley also has extensive lived experience of managing people with neurodiverse and mental health needs both professionally and personally.
Shelley continues to work within the local health board and has upheld her registration with the nursing and midwifery council. She has obtained a postgraduate degree in serious mental illness, has completed a course through Swansea University in contemporary issues in forensic nursing and also had extensive skill based training on risk management and family therapy.
Shelley's responsibilities cover all aspects of the provision of support in our service and her extensive ‘hands on’ experience, coupled with her formal training means that she is capable of being the responsible individual in a style that encourages staff and ensures that people feel comfortable and supported.
Lisa James - Lisa is also a registered mental health nurse with 10 years experience in the field and became director and manager of Diverse Support Pembrokeshire in 2022. Prior to qualifying as a nurse Lisa spent 13 years as a support worker and senior support worker for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. Since qualifying she has worked in an adult inpatient admission unit and as a community psychiatric in the Pembrokeshire area.
Lisa has a specialist interest in neurodiversity, she is a member of the community of practice group for the autistic community. She has completed training in assessing and diagnostics for autism and has completed the DIVA (Diagnostic Interview) training to assess and diagnose ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) with the royal college of London in May 2023.
She also has lived experience of autism and has completed numerous online training for neurodiversity and has has recently been seconded to the adult integrated autism service where she undertakes assessment and post diagnostic support as part of a multi disciplinary team. Lisas management approach of compassion, empathy and understanding alongside her drive and determination to deliver high quality care to those individuals who use and work within our service will ensure the long term success of Diverse Support Pembrokeshire Ltd.
